What Is a Ground Investigation and How Does It Affect Foundation Design?

A ground investigation combines fieldwork, laboratory testing and engineering analysis to define a plot’s geological and geotechnical properties. It evaluates bearing capacity, settlement, groundwater and seismic behaviour before structural decisions are finalised.

What does the report investigate?

Raft or piled foundation?

Can findings change after construction starts?

If excavation reveals conditions that differ from the report, geotechnical and structural teams must reassess the design. Site evidence must never be ignored.
